We are pleased to share the report of the 10th Kenya Internet Governance Forum. The event was took place on 6th July in Nairobi, themed ‘The Internet and Elections’.
The KIGF 2017 focused on political communications; how the electorate, political actors, and processes used the Internet, social networking and communication platforms for electioneering activities. It also focused on the technology used in the elections process, including voter registration, identification and results transmission. The KIGF 2017 discussion topics therefore delved into different aspects of the elections such as; tech and elections, safeguarding free speech, privacy, and information control.
