Draft VAT Digital Supply Regulations

Hi everyone,

PFA a statement published by the US Trade Representative re. the adoption of digital service taxes by trading partners: [ https://ustr.gov/about-us/policy-offices/press-office/press-releases/2020/june/ustr-initiates-section-301-investigations-digital-services-taxes | https://ustr.gov/about-us/policy-offices/press-office/press-releases/2020/june/ustr-initiates-section-301-investigations-digital-services-taxes ]

It will be interesting to see how, and whether, this will impact the free trade agreement negotiations between KE and US.

Sigi,
Digital Policy Consultant.

Dear Listers,

FYI, Kictanets did a policy brief ” [ https://t.co/HOvqYlZY2p?amp=1 | Regulating Over the Top Service (OTTs)-Challenge and Opportunities”  ] This study reviews the impact that Over The Top Services (OTTs) such as Skype, WhatsApp or YouTube have on the traditional telecommunication services. It also explores the question of whether OTTs should be regulated or not; and if so, in what way.

Kind Regards,
