KeSIG Class of 2025

KeSIG 2025: 37 Graduates Complete Internet Governance Training at KIGF

The 2025 Kenya School of Internet Governance (KeSIG) cohort completed its foundational internet governance training through an online, tutor-led course from April 28 to May 9, 2025.

Marking its 10th edition, KeSIG received 398 applications and selected 37 participants: 23 women and 14 men.

Completion rates were high, with 91% of women (21) and 86% of men (12) finishing the course, reflecting strong engagement.

KeSIG introduces internet governance, addressing technical, economic, legal, and social issues impacting Kenya and Africa’s digital landscape.

Participants, including human rights defenders, civil society members, students, government officials, and ICT professionals, gain skills to engage in local, regional, and global internet policy dialogues.

The training blends lectures, interactive activities, and sessions with seasoned African internet governance experts, cultivating a diverse, informed cohort equipped to shape digital policy.

The 2025 KeSIG graduation occurred during the 18th Kenya Internet Governance Forum (KIGF), held within the Africa Tech Policy Summit (AfTPS) from May 12–16, 2025.

This platform enabled graduates to join discussions shaping Africa’s digital future.

The ceremony underscored KeSIG’s role in amplifying local voices in global internet governance, preparing alumni to advocate for an inclusive, secure, and innovative internet ecosystem in Kenya and beyond.
